Im Having a colonoscopy today. Can I do an enema right before to clean out more… I already used the laxative

Im having a colonoscopy in 8 hours, and I used that horrible s**t, FLeet Laxative. I cleaned out, but I cant go through another dose of that stuff, I had a headache the entire night, and it tasted aweful, I could barely keep it down. Can I do an enema right before i go to the colonoscopy to clean out, so I dont have to reschedule?

im 13.
and my grandma and grnapa and BFF and parents all had a colonoscopy because cancer int eh color runs in our family and my friend has ulcers. but anyways just do exactly what the doctors said. because if you dont they will cancel your colonoscopy.

Usually the doctor will give you a bottle of Go Lightly, which means, you will go all night, you drink a cup of the stuff, every 15 minutes I believe. I was once given laxatives, when I asked about the Go Lightly, and the doctor said the Laxitives were enough, and then he complained when I had stool in my pictures. this comes in a gallon jug, but trust me it does the job. I would follow directions from your doctor though, you do not want to have to do through this again.

Do what the doctor asks. If they try to do the procedure and can't, then you'll have to start all over. You can handle it. It's a lot better than the alternatives.

An enema will only clean out the bottom portion of your colon. You need an internal cleansing to ensure that the doctor can see clearly. He needs a "clean" working environment for your benefit. You don't want him to miss a polyp because he couldn't see it. Take the stuff this time but next time ask for an alternative such as bisacodyl tablets and Go Lightly. They do the trick and don't taste near as bad.
