How does enema work? the "external laxative'?

Posted by: Peg  :  Category: Enema

Does anyone know what i'm talking about?
This medication is a liquid in an eyedrop like tube– its injection into the rectum and helps consitpation

so the question is what are the principles behind this –meaning how does it work?

you introduce a irritant to the bowel in liquid form so that the intestine spasms and allows fecal matter that may have accumulated or that is stuck to move along in the lower intestine. you can buy kits at your local drugstore. those red water bottles have a enema attachment if you buy the right (or wrong) one so that an enema can be applied at home. and as weird as it sounds you can find many recipes for health/cleansing online.

The medicine contined in it softens the stool that is in the rectal vault…. and it irritates the mucosa so that you have an increased peristaltic wave and are able to excrete the waste.

The little eyedropper sized "enema" is actually a mixture of glycerine and other things inert ingredients. This mixture is injected into your anus to help relieve constipation.

The glycerine is a strong irritant that causes you to have contractions to expel it, along with anything else that is inside you along with it.

It isn't the most comfortable feeling in the world but to me it's better than the discomfort of constipation. It does work and it works well, at least for me it does.

Just follow the directions on the package and you shouldn't have any problems getting results.

    Good luck.
