Ladies only please. Have you ever had colonic irrigation and did it make you feel refreshed and alive?

I'm considering it myself but would like to know if it really does work or if it is just hype

Here is a medical view. Colonic irrigation grew up, almost of necessity in the Edwardian era. This was because the affluent Edwardians spurned vegetables an indigestible and lived mainly on a diet of meat and sugar. This resulted in the fad for enemas to deal with the chronic constipation that this diet caused.

Anyone eating a well balanced diet with adequate fibre empties the contents of the bowel within 24 hours, thus making a mockery of the whole detox theme.

If your diet is poor and you do not open your bowel easily at least once a day this is the problem to address.

    Hi,
I haven't had it myself, but my sister suffers from IBS and she went and had it. She said it made her feel so much better but because of the price in my area, she can't really afford to go at regular intervals. She said it was weird at first but afterwards she felt 'healthy and light' (her words). Hope this helps xx

I agree with Dr Frank - if you eat healthily and are 'regular' there is no need for colonic irrigation….
