is colonic irrigation a good way to detox?
Posted by: Peg : Category: Colonic Irrigation
has anyone done this~? does it hurt? does it work?
A friend of mine had this done and she said it was quite uncomfy and a bit embarrassing, though it did make her feel good afterwards. To be honest I'm a bit sceptical. There are other easier ways of detoxing like a good diet high in fresh fruit and veges, drinking plenty of water, and getting a bit of exercise that help your body purge itself of any toxins. If you do decide to go for colonic irrigation, please be very selective of where you go, as you want someone that's highly experienced - someone who doesn't know what they're doing can cause a lot of damage.
Good luck

most concerning is destabilizing electrolytes and fluid shifts in your intravascualr spaces as well as introduction of deadly fecal bacteria from others…..I say get a stool softener and detox with fasting!

"Detox" is nonsense in the first place. Your liver and kidneys do all the "detoxing" your body needs. Colonic irrigation will not do anything to "detox" your body. It is a waste of money and time. Don't be gullible enough to fall for this scam.

I've heard colonic IRRIGATION can cause problems due to the force of it. However, gently cleansing the colon can be a great health boon.
If you've got money, go to an Ayurvedic clinic and ask about ghee / castor oil flush followed by Bhasti (herbalized oil enema).
If you don't have money, perhaps you could read about various enemas on line? I've heard of coffee enema, green juice enemas, etc (friends have done this) but don't know much about those particular practicese.
