Enema
I was just watching a programe on detox for different ailments.
Part of the programme involved a coffee enema. Anybody know more about this?
I have never done it personally but worked briefly with a detox specialist who advocated it. I talked with a number of her clients and they all had very positive experiences.

Will you release the same amount of toxins at home eventually? Is professional hydrotherapy really worth the money?
Likely both are a waste of time. Just do it naturally with an high fiber diet.

I am worrying myself sick over having this done but need to before I can have the ileostom reversed. Hope there is someone out there who can help.
gastrograph (gas·tro·graph) (gas´tro-graf) [gastro- + -graph] an apparatus for recording the motions of the stomach. This is the only definition I could find in a medical dictionary. I would have to say that an gastrograph enema would measure the volume and motility of the bowel. Hope this helps.

Enema
I'm not asking if it's preferable or if it's healthy. I know it's not. I'm just asking whether it's particularly detrimental.
On top of everything else everyone said - It can deplete you of nutrients and water your body needs. It will also cause the muscles of you intestines not to work and then you will be dependent upon laxatives for the rest of your life. You can however take a fiber supplement. So to answer your question yes it is detrimental.

It is all I have and I am really constipated and feel too uncomfortable to go to the store.
OK thank you, I am sure it is safe enough. I will let you know if it stings.
I forgot to say that the douche was disposable and purchased from the store. It had a mild tingle but was not uncomfortable and did the job well. I felt much better.
Yes. It should be 3 parts water 1 part vinegar. That should be mild enough for your body to handle.

My Thai roommate gives himself one almost everyday and I'm convinced he's going to screw up his insides.
It will not hurt him but is a waste of time unless he has a terrible diet or bowel problem. Then he should improve it. See site below for more on this. If he is trying to cleanse, there are better ways. Find out why he is doing it.

I'm starting a juice fast and to reduce the pain that comes with detoxifying I need an enema kit. Please keep in mind that I don't live in a heavily populated area so where I can shop is limited. Thanks!
What you're doing could have repercussions to your health. If you live on just juice and enemas, you're going to clean your body of all the heathy nutrients. The only time anyone needs to clean themselves out that much is when they are going to have a colonoscopy or bowel surgery.

Enema
She was abused in the local dog and was only fedl large chuncks of adult dog food All other problems with her have been addressed and fixed but this is the only problem remaining. She has had a bowel movement but it is VERY hard and seems like it has small pebbles in it. I have heard of enemas for dogs and have given one to some puppies but not kittens. Really need to know ASAP!!!
It's something a vet must check out. If she needs an enema that's for a professional to decide.
You must find the CAUSE of the hard stool which probably can be corrected with diet.

Enema
neighbor said bootsy is behaving the way she is because she is constipated and that i should give her an enema and she would be fine. i think the unit i got at the chemists needs warming up in the micowave. any cat lovers who has done this?
Take the device back to the chemists.
Add some oil to the food - should work a treat. and if it doesn't then take her to the vet. I have seen this done with a GSD and believe me you do not want to be in the same room.
Personally I'd be suspicious of the neighbour who's probably going to get a real kick out of imagining you giving your cat an enema and will probably be checking you for injuries next time you meet !
